The students will be placed on one of two ministry teams with an emphasis in either music ministry or missions work. Each student will be interviewed and evaluated to see which team is best suited to their interests, abilities, and calling. The teams will travel on a ministry tour for a few weeks each semester, spending the remainder of the year in preparation and training. These tours are designed to give the students practical applications for their teachings and hands-on ministry experience, as well as sense of purpose in the body of Christ and the work of the Kingdom.
This Ministry Team involves an intense 8 week preparation for a promotional tour. This class has an emphasis on unity and team work as well as training in anointed music ministry, self confidence, and broadening individual music skills. The AFBC Music Promotional Tour not only promotes the school, but also gives the students opportunity to gain hands-on training in music ministry and introduction, as well as recognition within the churches in which we are invited to minister. Those on the Music Ministry Team are required to spend their free time in training and prayer as well as be willing to give up some weekends in order to minister to local churches.
Our Missions Team exists because every person on the planet is someone that God cares about. With this in mind, our students will be trained to see the brokenness that exists in other nations, their own neighborhoods, and often themselves. The Missions Team meets daily to prepare for its partnership with established missionaries each year. Each Spring, our team serves alongside these leaders and helps local communities while being exposed to many challenges along the way. We are passionate about effective longterm engagement. We walk with students and emphasize the importance of practicing what they have learned in the way they live their lives.
(This course will require some extra expenses for travel such as passports, clothing and travel accessories etc. We will host fundraisers such as "Miles for Missions" and others that take place outside of class time.)
